The Crisis of the Western Church

We just posted on our web site a lecture I gave several years ago, "The Crisis of the Western Church and the Way Forward" that I suspect needs to be revisited.

Here is the link.  http://www.perichoresis.org/free-resources/free-lecture-series/message/the-crisis-of-the-western-church-and-the-way-forward.html

Very important lecture message...I gather the Church had a "great falling away" when it allowed the idea of "separation" of God and man into its worldview. This fallacy has indeed haunted me all my life, and only after decades of shouting "this can't be" to God did your theology and the Shack begin to make any sense as suggesting a reasonable God. Otherwise, the towel would already have been tossed in. I do still question, however, the use of the English word "personal" as that relationship between God and man. What that thing is between God and man may be something far beyond personal, but it's not discernable as such.

I have come to the conclusion that I was talked into the idea I was lost and totally separated from God, I have rejected that notion after much reflection.

There is no place where this message is being preached, except here. It must be, therefore, that Jesus Christ will supply the way, he is the way to fulfillment of this message.

Bill Johnson of Bethel Church preaches a very similar idea, although he arrives to his conclusions in a totally different way.
